Government accuses Ambazonian Separatists leaders of egoistic interest
The government of Cameroon has maintained that it was in constant talks with Anglophone Ambazonian Separatists leaders both at home and in the Diaspora to resolve the Anglophone crisis. The revelation was made during an audience granted the press by Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute who was on a peace pilgrimage to the North West Region of the country from 5 to 8 October 2021.
Minister Felix Mbayu Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Relations with the Commonwealth, who was the general secretary of the 2019 Major National Dialogue convene to seek solutions to the crisis, however expressed regret that each time they have discussed with the separatist leaders they have remained intransigent on their position of a separate independent state of Ambazonia. This he said was against all theories and practices of dialogue and negotiations.
He then revealed that each time government reaches out to the separatists leaders in the Diaspora with a peace offering, their pre-conditions have always been based on personal interest than the general good of those the claim to defend.
The government then challenged the Ambazonian leaders to come out and disclaim the fact that efforts have not been made to keep on the discussions with them.
