They have given government 10 days to respond to their plight
Some lectures of the University of Bamenda, Members of the Union of Teachers of Higher Education (SYNES) have threatened a strike action if the security challenges the face on their way to school within the context of the ongoing Anglophone crisis was not resolved. A handful of the lectures have been assaulted on the Bambui – Bambili stretch of road to Uba, many kidnapped at least one has lost his life.
Consequences of Anglophone crisis
In a release signed by the Uba SYNES president Prof. Michael Kpughe Lang, they shall stop lectures within ten days beginning 18 – 29 October. 2021, if a solution was not found to their worries. According to the lecturers in spite of their determination and resilience to keep on with lectures despite insecurity for close to 5 years now since the escalation of the Anglophone crisis the authorities have remained indifferent to their plight.
